Common Questions Answered Honestly
Still unsure? Here are honest answers to the questions
we hear most often at the clinic.
Do I need to be a sportsperson to book?
Not at all. The majority of people Tom treats are not
professional athletes. They are office workers with
chronic back pain, parents who can’t pick up their
kids without wincing, and people who have simply been
living with discomfort for too long. If pain is
limiting your life, you qualify.
What happens in my first session?
Your first session is a full assessment, not a brief
chat followed by a generic leaflet. Tom takes a
detailed history of your symptoms, understands how
your injury is affecting your daily life and carries
out a thorough physical assessment to identify the
root cause. You’ll leave with a clear personalised
plan. Clarity and action from session one.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your injury and Tom will be completely
honest with you after your assessment. Some people
feel significant improvement after just one or two
sessions. Others with more complex or longstanding
conditions benefit from a structured block of
treatment. We never string sessions out unnecessarily.
Is sports massage different from a regular massage?
Yes, significantly. A regular massage is primarily
about relaxation. Sports massage is a clinical
treatment. Tom uses deep tissue techniques to target
specific structures, release trigger points, improve
circulation and directly address the muscular causes
of pain and restricted movement.
Where are you based and how do I book?

Rehabilitators and Trainers, the UK’s leading

It means Tom has met rigorous academic and clinical
standards, follows a strict code of conduct and

I went to Tom with a shoulder injury that was preventing me from training and causing me alot of problems when teaching. He is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to listen and understand my sport, then gave me targeted exercises to help fix this. I also mentioned my back which has been on and off irritating me for YEARS and after seeing so many people about it and seeing no improvement I'd pretty much given up trying when it came to fixing my back but a few sessions with Tom and its already started feeling much better. Feeling so much more confident getting back in to training again thanks to Tom as he explained everything clearly so I have a better understanding whats going on with my body and what I need to strengthen to keep training safely. 100% recommendPosted on Google Nick DunneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Started getting issues with my back which developed into sciatica. Struggled for months taking strong painkillers to get through each day. A few people suggested Tom and I’m gutted I didn’t go see him sooner. My back was better than it’s ever been in a matter of weeks. I still see Tom for maintenance and it’s the best investment I’ve ever made. I highly recommend going to see him if you have any issues or if you just want to prevent having issues in the near future. 10/10Posted on Google Samuel FowlesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tom was brilliant in helping me through my post-knee surgery rehab. He tailored my program to suit me, with exercises and progressions to match the pace I needed to reach my goal of playing football again.
